Terms of Use

Terms for using Plom

Last updated: 24 June 2026

These Terms apply to the Plom mobile app, website, support channels, launch access, and related student-success services. By creating an account or using Plom, you agree to use the service responsibly and in line with these Terms.

Built for study support

Plom helps you understand assignment requirements, organise deadlines, plan study work, reflect on feedback, and find useful next steps. It does not replace your own judgement or your university's academic rules.

You stay responsible

You are responsible for what you submit to your university, workplace, scholarship body, or other institution. Check Plom's outputs before relying on them.

No emergency service

Plom may link to support resources, but it is not a crisis, counselling, legal, financial, medical, migration, or emergency service.

Subscriptions

Plom Pro billing is not live in current beta builds. If enabled, subscriptions are handled through the App Store and the separate Subscription Terms.

Accounts and eligibility

Plom is intended for university students and related student-support use cases. You must provide accurate account information, keep your login details secure, and tell Plom support if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

You must not create accounts for abuse, reverse engineering, scraping, spam, fraud, security testing without permission, or attempts to avoid rate limits, entitlement checks, or usage controls.

Academic integrity

Plom is designed to help with understanding, planning, reflection, and study confidence. Do not use Plom to cheat, impersonate someone else, submit work you did not author, bypass assessment rules, fabricate sources, or violate your university's academic integrity policy.

Different institutions and subjects have different rules for AI tools. You are responsible for checking those rules, disclosing AI assistance when required, and making sure your submitted work is genuinely yours.

AI outputs

Plom uses AI-backed features. AI outputs can be incomplete, outdated, biased, or wrong. Treat outputs as study support, not as final advice. You should verify important information against your subject guide, rubric, course coordinator, tutor, official university source, or other reliable source before acting on it.

Uploads and content you provide

You are responsible for the material you upload, paste, write, or otherwise provide to Plom. Only share academic material you are allowed to use with Plom. Avoid adding unnecessary sensitive information, private information about other people, health details, financial information, government identifiers, or confidential institutional material.

You give Plom permission to process the content you provide so Plom can operate the service, generate app outputs, store your study workflow, provide support, protect the service, and improve reliability as described in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You must not use Plom to:

  • break the law or encourage others to break the law;
  • harass, threaten, exploit, or harm another person;
  • upload malware, harmful code, or intentionally disruptive content;
  • attempt to access accounts, systems, data, or features you are not allowed to access;
  • copy, resell, scrape, or overload the service without permission;
  • circumvent paywalls, rate limits, security controls, or entitlement checks;
  • submit someone else's work as your own or use Plom to misrepresent authorship.

Subscriptions and payment terms

Plom Pro is planned as an optional paid upgrade. When billing is live, App Store purchases, subscription management, cancellation, renewal, and refunds are handled through Apple and your Apple ID. Read the Subscription Terms before purchasing.

Account deletion

You can initiate account deletion from the app's account settings. Deleting your Plom account removes the account and associated app data Plom is not legally or operationally required to keep. Some records may remain for security, audit, billing, dispute, backup, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

Deleting your Plom account does not cancel an App Store subscription. If subscriptions are live, you must cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings.

Changes, availability, and beta features

Plom may change, add, limit, pause, or remove features as the product develops. Beta features, preview states, planned pricing, and future launch details may change before public release. Plom may suspend or limit access where needed to protect users, the service, legal compliance, or operational stability.

No professional advice

Plom provides study organisation and student-success support. It does not provide legal, medical, mental health, migration, tax, financial, or professional academic misconduct advice. For those issues, contact a qualified professional or your university's official support team.

Privacy

Plom's handling of personal information, academic material, diagnostics, analytics, AI processing, uploads, and subscription data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
